Wednesday, April 26th – 1:00 pm – Wednesday Afternoon Knitters – Come share your love of knitting and crocheting with both beginning and experienced knitters. Meet fellow knitters, brush-up on your skills, and learn some new techniques. Please bring your own supplies. This group meets every Wednesday.
Thursday, April 27th – 7:00 pm – Find Your Truth, Book Talk & Signing with Lou Redmond – Lou Redmond will appear at the Nutley Public Library to discuss his new book, Find Your Truth, and lead a guided meditation. Lou is a motivational messenger sharing his truth in order to help people through speaking engagements and meditation classes. In this raw and inspirational book, he shares his stories of self-sabotage, self-exploration and self-discovery, in hopes of helping others to live a happier and more fulfilling life. Monday, May 1st – 7:00 pm – New Jersey Folk Revival Music History and Tradition – Garden State author and historian Michael Gabriele discusses his latest book at the Monday Night Book Club. It is a chronological narrative on the evolution, traditions and history of folk revival music in New Jersey, from colonial days of tavern revelers and fiddle players in the 1700s through to the present day. Live acoustic music will accompany the discussion. This program is free and open to the public. It is part of our monthly Monday Night Book Discussion Group. Refreshments will be served. Tuesday, May 2nd – 2:00 pm – Tuesday Afternoon Book Club – The Nutley Public Library Outreach Program hosts a monthly book discussion at the Nutley Parkside Apartments, 7 William Street on the first Tuesday of each month. Residents outside of the Parkside Apartments meet at the library at 1:30 p.m. and proceed with the librarian to the senior building. The book selections are the same as the Monday Night Book Club.

Saturday, May 20th – 2:00 pm – The Black Monk Screening and Discussion – Join us for a free public screening of film clips from The Black Monk with Emmy-nominated and award winning Essex County filmmakers,Marylou & Jerome Bongiorno. There will be a discussion and Q&A on the art of filmmaking, the process of adapting a classic short story, as well as insights from featured speakers from Nutley. This fiction film, inspired by the eponymous classic short story by Anton Chekhov, was created in association with The Staten Island Museum. Guest speakers will discuss the scenes filmed in Nutley in a private botanical garden and interiors of a 19th century home.
