Absolute Rehab Physical Therapy – Moving & Growing Free Exercise Class:
Thursday, March 30th – 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm – This class is a general conditioning program. The one hour low impact class will incorporate exercises to increase flexibility, strength, balance and endurance. Exercise will be conducted both sitting and standing. Resistance bands will be provided to all participants. Exercises will be modified and individualized to meet the needs of challengers of all ages and physical abilities. The program is designed to assist participants in achieving their highest level of physical ability. This program is for all… but perfect for those who have limitations or are overcoming injuries. This free program offered at NFSB is designed to empower, enlighten and encourage high school aged boys to articulate emotions in a healthy, constructive manner, and build self-awareness and positive identity. Tuesday, April 4, 11, 18, 25 – 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm – Social Skills Kids Group – Group A, Ages 5-9. In this free program, elementary school children learn how to interact in ways that are optimally communicative and socially appropriate with a focus on skills for effective listening, reciprocal responsiveness, self-reflection, behavior modulation and heightened sensitivity to others. Thursday, April 6, 20 – 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm – The Men’s Connection – A Group for Men in the Middle – The issues impacting men in the established years of their lives may be overwhelming: balancing work, marriage, family, children, aging parents, and additional pressures. There are too many responsibilities with too few resources and little support. Men easily can lose the essence of who they are as males and individuals. Men are stronger than they may think, and do not have to “go it” alone. They can benefit by both raising self-awareness and making common connections with others. Thursday, March 30th – 7:00 pm – The Striving Reach Book Talk and Signing – John (Jack) Suffren will appear at the Nutley Public Library on Thursday, March 30th at 7:00 p.m.to discuss his new book, The Striving Reach. John Suffren spent 47 years teaching, coaching and performing many other duties at Nutley High School before retiring in 2003. His book is part autobiographical, part philosophy, part church-related, part anecdotal and mostly about the many good people he encountered along the way.
