Monday, August 20th to Wednesday, August 22nd – 9:30 am to 11:30 am – Mindfulness Summer Camp – Tempo!’s Mindfulness Summer Camp has been designed to provide children with thoughtful and enriched opportunities to participate with other children in a small group setting with an emphasis on music, yoga, and art. Children will learn to safely express themselves, integrate mindfulness and awareness for themselves and others, engage in a fun and creative environment, engage their natural energy and enthusiasm through cooperative games and storytelling, experience daily rotations of music making, yoga and breathing, and art projects geared towards themes of acceptance, believing in your dreams, strength, peace, and kindness.

Thursday, August 23rd – 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm – The Men’s Connection – A Group for Men in the Middle – The issues impacting men in the established years of their lives may be overwhelming: balancing work, marriage, family, children, aging parents, and additional pressures. There are too many responsibilities with too few resources and little support. Men easily can lose the essence of who they are as males and individuals. Men are stronger than they may think, and do not have to “go it” alone. They can benefit by both raising self-awareness and making common connections with others. Come join us for this 8-week group for men, age 30-60, that will be led by Joe Armentano, Licensed Clinical Social Worker and therapist at NFSB. Thursday, August 30th – 7:00 pm – “Yankee Batboy” Book Talk and Signing with Anthony Florio – Anthony Florio will read and discuss the book “Yankee Batboy, From Little Italy to Yankee Stadium” at the Nutley Public Library. Anthony will share stories about growing up in Little Italy, and traveling with the Yankees during the summers of 1962, 1963 and 1964, which also included three World Series. He will also talk about his experiences with the New York Yankee greats such as Mickey Mantle, Yogi Berra and Roger Maris. This program will be fun for all ages. Books will be available to purchase.
