Governor Phil Murphy Announces $10 Million in Financial Relief for Small Businesses Impacted by Tropical Storm Ida: Interim assistance will provide grants up to $5,000 to storm-impacted businesses/non-profits with up to 50 employees. Governor Phil Murphy today announced preliminary details of a proposed plan to provide grants to New Jersey small businesses impacted by severe weather caused by Tropical Storm Ida on Wednesday and early Thursday. The New Jersey Economic Development Authority (NJEDA) has been tasked with creating and administering the program, which will provide short-term, immediate rent/mortgage reimbursement support to New Jersey businesses and non-profits with up to 50 employees that suffered physical damage on September 1stand 2nd, 2021 and any additional flooding immediately thereafter. Emergency Federal Relief Fund: The recent flooding has been nothing short of devastating for a long list of local businesses, schools, and homeowners across Essex County. FEMA has added Essex County to the official declaration list. Now, those in Essex County who suffered damage to their homes or businesses in Hurricane Ida are now eligible for emergency federal relief funds. Also, the New Jersey Economic Development Authority approved an emergency grant program for small businesses — those with up to 50 employees — impacted last week by the remains of Hurricane Ida, and for businesses impacted by Tropical Storm Henri. Nutley Public Library – News Updates:
The health and safety of our patrons, staff, and the community at large is our highest priority during this challenging time. The library is open full hours with many socially distanced programs in place, as well as computer use, printing, photocopying, document scanning, notary service, iPads and the Story Time Room. Masks are required to be worn when entering the library. Pandemic guidelines are subject to change based on CDC, NJ State and local recommendations. During March and April – The Tri-County Camera Club exhibits some of their best photographs that their members have created. The pieces include portraits, scenery and action photos. Unico Scholarships:
Unico Foundation, Inc., offers four scholarships for high school seniors, as well as several others for undergraduate and graduate students of Italian descent. The Nutley chapter will sponsor eligible students who live in New Jersey. These scholarships for high school students are in addition to local scholarships available to Nutley residents only, and require a separate online only application. There are four $6000 grants, applied for together with one original application and three complete copies. TAPinto Nutley named again the town’s Electronic News Source:
TAPinto Nutley was again named the Electronic News Source of Nutley in a resolution passed at the Nov. 30 Township Board of Commissioners meeting. TAPinto Nutley has become the place to go for original local news, information and is the township’s only daily news source. TAPinto Nutley is just one in a network of more than 90 hyperlocal online news sites providing objective daily news in their community. TAPinto sites have broken all records this year with millions of readers. In Nutley, over 35,000 unique readers visit the site every month. By law, municipalities in the Garden State must name two print publications as their official news source. The other two official newspapers are the Star-Ledger and the Nutley Sun. TAPinto Nutley does not receive any funds from the Township of Nutley for being the official news source or publishing official notices.
